I heard commotion in the kitchen....but not contention.....it was positive, like cheers at a baseball game. I walk in the kitchen to find that my three oldest sons are cheering on they're youngest brother. Dad told them if everyone ate their dinner w/o complaint that he'd take them to Dairy Queen. The three oldest got done, cleared their plates and then came back to the table to encourage their youngest bro.
Now I know it may seem simple, but to a Mom who's happiness comes from the children getting along, it meant the world. It may not happen often, but when the kids are in harmony or supporting eachother, I promise you that all of my planets line up and a snapshot is taken of a wonderful moment in time.
I've often thought that my life was being filmed. Not just mine. Everybody's, I suppose. My thought is that when my stay on earth nears it's end, I'll be able to sit back and watch the "home video's" of what's gone on with me. Simple times like yesterday will be burned into the reel.
The boys were pretty rowdy yesterday. Even at the craziest pinnacles, they'll always do something to warm my heart and make me remember why I love my calling as a mother.

Really meaningful experiences in life
have peaks
of breif duration
which are repeatable.
Even love
is
imperfect,
leaves us open
to be
hurt,
vulnerable,
misunderstood,
yet,
leaves room for
growth,
excitement,
joy,
becoming more ourselves
by offering more to the other,
but that doesn't mean
that our timing is always right
even when we love eachother.

great fireworks. ring-side seating at waterside. will go there again next year. maybe make a picnic and go a bit earlier. we'll see. depends on where I am next year.
